How It Works

How Does the Fillco Marketplace Work?

Step 01

Choose a Producer

Purchase a share of a crop or livestock from a producer that aligns with your values. Your share purchase funds production and gives you a stake in the food being raised.

Step 02

Know What's Happening

Follow the production process from start to finish. Fillco provides transparency into the practices, decisions, and people behind your food.

Step 03

Enjoy the Results

When harvest arrives, Fillco manages storage and fulfillment. You receive your share on your schedule, direct from the source.

The Problem & The Fix

Why Fillco

01The problem

Nobody Knows Who Grew Their Food.

Today’s food system prioritizes efficiency through scale. Producers, distributors and retailers have become so large that it is impossible to provide customers a connection to the people who grow their food.

Fillco’s fix

Fillco connects customers directly with producers. Once a relationship is established, Fillco handles payments, storage, fulfillment and logistics — making it easy to buy directly from the source.

02The problem

Labels Sell Stories, Not Transparency.

Terms like “Sustainable,” “Regenerative,” “Free Range,” and “Grass Fed” are often marketing claims that leave customers guessing about what actually happened with their food.

Fillco’s fix

Fillco defines and verifies production practices through producer-to-producer farm visits and encourages customers to visit their producers. Customers can see exactly how food is raised and choose the practices they want to support.

03The problem

Your Food Dollars Rarely Reach the Farm.

Our food system pays retailers, distributors, brokers and service providers before it pays producers. The result is higher prices for customers and lower prices for producers.

Fillco’s fix

Producers set the price they need to raise food the right way. Fillco adds a transparent markup to a 30% gross margin and passes delivery expenses to customers at cost. Customers know exactly where their money goes.

04The problem

Independent Farms Are Disappearing.

Food production is becoming increasingly consolidated, leaving customers with fewer choices and forcing many small and mid-sized farms out of business.

Fillco’s fix

Fillco is a marketplace where independent producers and like-minded customers can connect directly. Producers receive fair compensation for their superior practices and customers receive food backed by truth, transparency and choice.

The Movement

A New Movement

A movement. Then a marketing category. Then nothing.

1970

Organic Was a Movement.

A new generation of farmers and consumers sought an alternative to industrial agriculture. They wanted synthetic-input-free, values driven, real food.

2000

Organic Became a Standard.

The USDA National Organic Program created a national definition of organic production. For the first time, consumers had a consistent set of rules governing how food could be labeled organic.

Today

Organic Improved the Food System, But It Isn't the Whole Story.

Organic established important standards and gave consumers an alternative choice. Organic also showed retailers that customers cared about the processes used to raise their food.

As the industry scaled, organic was commoditized and the connection between customers and producers remained largely unchanged.

In response, hundreds of new labels and claims have emerged—Regenerative, Sustainable, Humane, Local, Family Farm, and many more. Each attempts to communicate production practices, but customers are still left relying on labels, certifications, and marketing claims.

Fillco

The Next Chapter Is Truth and Transparency.

Fillco believes technology can create a food system built on direct relationships between producers and customers.

Not another label. Not another certification. A different system.

Customers choose the producers and production practices they want to support. Producers receive fair compensation for delivering them. Every practice is defined, verified, and transparently priced.

Fillco combines direct producer relationships, producer-to-producer verified practices, transparent pricing, farm access, and shared participation in food production.

The result is a food system built on truth, transparency, and choice.

Testimonials

Voices from our community

I had stopped eating meat because I lost trust in the meat industry. But owning a quarter of a cow through Fillco changed everything. Knowing exactly how it was raised — and by whom — brought beef back into our freezer.

Sarah B.

Customer

My farm is too small to compete with the industrial food system. With Fillco, I can connect with customers who trust me to raise food — selling a better process without cutting corners or greenwashing the truth.

Thaddeus B.

Producer

We sold the olives on our ten trees for the season. Through Fillco we had 10 liters of oil delivered home and sold the rest wholesale. I’ve never felt more confident about the quality — or happier about my wallet.
